The Denver Hospice is a leading provider of hospice and palliative care services in Colorado. We are committed to delivering high-quality care to our patients and their families, and we are seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to join our team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled CNA to provide care to our patients in our Inpatient Care Center. As a CNA, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to our patients and their families. This is a full-time position, working 36 hours per week, with a varied schedule including nights.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver care based on the Plan of Care (POC) established by the RN Case Manager and/or assigned RN.
  • Communicate with the Case Manager, as needed, regarding Plan of Care and any urgent needs regarding patient care.
  • Assist with ambulation, range-of-motion exercises, positioning, turning, and transfers according to patient's abilities, tolerance, and preference.
  • Take and record vital signs, observe changes in patient's condition or behavior, and promptly report any changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel.
  • Provide personal care to patients, including bathing, peri-care, shampoo, oral hygiene, denture care, nail care, shaving, and assisting with dressing.
  • Aide/assist with patient's toileting needs, including bedpan/urinal use, catheter care, changing briefs, and when delegated and supervised, administer suppositories/enemas.
  • Periodically address food and fluid issues by preparing meals, feeding patients, and/or offering fluids.
  • Help maintain patient's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, or other damage by changing incontinent patients, turning, repositioning, and applying lotion.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum Experience: One year CNA experience desired (hospice preferred). Six month's CNA experienced desired if position is for home health.
  • Required License: Current Colorado CNA license. Valid Colorado driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
  • CPR certification.
