Accounting Specialist/Intern Job Description

As an Accounting Specialist/Intern at Toyota Boshoku America, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform month-end duties such as journal entries, labor and expense analysis, sales and cogs analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist with quarterly physical inventory counts and fixed assets annual Physical Inventory and tagging of fixed assets as needed.
  • Monitor inventory value report for abnormalities and process adjustments as needed.
  • Complete month-end accounting close duties such as journal entries, review health insurance, labor analysis, intercompany charges.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support all payroll processes within the plant and serve as a liaison between employees and payroll department for all time, supplemental pay, garnishments, etc.
  • Prepare internal report of payroll, overtime, etc.
  • Support internal/external audit requests and reporting.
  • Support special requests/reports as needed.
  • Support BOM audits with Production Control (PC) and Manufacturing and participate in BOM cost deconstruction (tear downs).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of work experience in an Accounting role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have knowledge of basic cost accounting, business finance, standard cost, and inventory valuation.
Language Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of Japanese or Spanish is a plus).
Computer/Software:
  • Requires strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (i.e., Oracle) experience helpful, but not required.
  • Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications.
