Operations Specialist

CHS Inc. is a leading global agribusiness seeking a skilled Operations Specialist to join our team in Onida, SD. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our local facility, working closely with customers, and contributing to the company's mission to empower agriculture.

• Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities handled at the location and comply with company policies and government regulations.
• Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
• Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, which may require sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching flexible hoses.
• Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using heavy or light-duty machinery/equipment.
• Control and monitor all load-out functions, ensuring accurate and efficient operations.
• Understand and operate automated scale/dump systems, maintaining high levels of accuracy and productivity.
• Conduct and properly record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms.
• Monitor and maintain the quality of inventory, ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed, and others to customer sites, providing excellent customer service.
• Keep all work areas clean, orderly, and safe, conducting regular housekeeping duties and maintaining a high level of safety awareness.
• Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal, and warehouse work, including driving a loader, loading/unloading inventory, forklift operation, and general maintenance.
• Promptly report any customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Must meet minimum age requirement.
• 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.
• Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Agriculture experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
