About the Role
As a Surgical Technologist, you will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, scrubbing for surgical procedures and demonstrating competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. You will prepare and maintain supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Your role will be to support the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center and participate in quality improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures
* Supports the surgical team during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
* Assists in maintaining a clean and safe operating room environment
* Participates in quality improvement activities to improve patient outcomes and staff efficiency
Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent required. Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or previous surgical technician experience of at least two years. Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred. Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient. Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation is essential. Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed. Must be an excellent team player with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, and physicians.
