  • Utilize effective troubleshooting techniques to assess and rectify electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic system malfunctions on mobile machinery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed through detailed work orders.
  • Operate a one-ton or larger vehicle as required.
  • Conduct inspections and operate machinery to identify defects and necessary repairs.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment utilizing hoists and hand tools as needed.
  • Interpret and understand repair manuals and equipment schematics to facilitate repairs.
  • Engage with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to address repair and maintenance challenges.
  • Inspect components for signs of damage or excessive wear.
  • Test repaired machinery to confirm efficient operation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on various types of equipment to prolong their lifespan.

Qualifications:

  • Vocational or college degree preferred.
  • Welding or cutting experience/certification is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with scheduling and managing the turnaround of a heavy equipment fleet is beneficial.
  • Certifications in Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, and John Deere earthmoving machinery are a plus.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • 3-5+ years of professional experience as a heavy equipment technician.
  • Proficient in repair and maintenance of earth-moving and other construction machinery.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite, smartphones, and tablets.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
