Fitness Center Ambassador

The Fitness Center Ambassador will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to members, prospective members and guests at Planet Fitness. This role plays a crucial part in fostering a positive and motivating environment within the gym.
About the Role
This is a salaried position with an estimated annual salary of $40,000-$60,000 depending on location and experience. As a Fitness Center Ambassador, you will work closely with other team members to ensure seamless front desk operations and provide excellent support to all customers.
Key Responsibilities
Some key responsibilities of this role include:
- Greeting members and providing them with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
- Handling front desk activities such as checking members into the system and answering phone calls
- Assisting with new member sign-ups and taking prospective members on tours of the facility
- Facilitating updates to member accounts and resolving any issues that may arise
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication skills and be able to effectively interact with people from diverse backgrounds. You should also have a strong passion for fitness and health, as well as a keen eye for detail. Here are some of the key requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; however, a degree in a related field can be advantageous
- Must be 18 years or older and possess a valid driver's license (if applicable)
- CPR/AED Certification must be obtained and maintained during employment
Work Environment
This role requires working in an indoor environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to cleaning chemicals. Employees may be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for long periods of time. Vision and hearing requirements are normal range with correction allowed if needed.
