Steel Yard Worker

Join Schuff Steel, a world-class leader in building structures and bridges, as a Utility Yardman. This role is critical to the production process, requiring expertise and knowledge to transport steel, equipment, supplies, and machinery throughout the plant and yard in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:- Transport steel out of the shop to ensure timely production.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers.
- Operate forklifts in a safe manner.
- Manage and move steel material and equipment as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two years of experience operating 30,000 lbs. forklifts or bigger.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and operating instructions.
- Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
