Diffusion Specialist

Job Description

The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center is seeking an experienced Diffusion Semiconductor Process Engineer to join our team in Linthicum, Maryland. As a member of our Advanced Technology Lab, you will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and testing semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products using various semiconductor fabrication techniques.
• Develop and sustain existing Diffusion/Implant/RTP processes for a development line.
• Interface with other unit process engineers, operations, and integration engineers during the design and execution of process/equipment improvement projects.
• Develop new Diffusion/Implant/RTP processes for emerging technologies in both microelectronics and superconducting electronics.
• Write and maintain process documentation.
• Support statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or other related technical discipline with 5 years of relevant experience (3 years with a MS, 0 with a PhD).
• Must have Diffusion industry experience.
• Hands-on experience running semiconductor process equipment and with process sustaining/development activities.
• Must be able to work independently, providing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
• Must be able to work a large percentage of time working in a Class 100 cleanroom environment.
• Must be able to work the weekday shift, covering at a minimum Monday – Friday.
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or other related technical discipline with 5 years of relevant experience (3 years with a MS, 0 with a PhD). Must have Diffusion industry experience.

Salary Range

$102,400 - $153,600 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
