Responsibilities

As a Refrigeration Start-up Technician, you will be responsible for the start-up of supermarket refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment. You will also assist with Energy Optimization (EO) projects, including retro-commissioning of supermarkets, EMS upgrades, leak detection upgrades, and gas conversion projects.

You will perform evacuations of parallel racks, perform EMS wiring and programming, and lead small projects such as single case and condenser changeouts. You will also work with local branch Service and Construction Managers to assist in problematic stores, training for junior technicians and foremen, or other areas as needed.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or GED, coursework at an accredited vocational-technical or trade school, and 3+ years of experience in supermarket EMS systems. EMS Certification is preferred, and you will need 5+ years of experience in commercial refrigeration, especially with parallel rack systems. You will also need I and II Certification, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record.

You will have expert knowledge of refrigeration, ice machines, and electrical systems, as well as the ability to efficiently troubleshoot commercial and supermarket refrigeration equipment. You will also have strong mechanical aptitude, good communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with customers, management, crew, and team.
