POSITION OVERVIEW

As a pivotal member of our team, the Service Manager will lead the bicycle repair department under the guidance of the Store Manager. This role is crucial for enhancing rider-facing operational efficiency by offering technical support and resources to service personnel, addressing complex issues, distributing technical updates, and identifying operational challenges within the shop.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the department's profitability by managing and exceeding operational costs.
  • Guide the service team in all aspects of bicycle and store service operations, including new bike assembly and repairs, while demonstrating best practices.
  • Oversee task assignments to maintain efficient workflow and achieve timely service turnaround.
  • Manage the complete repair process: from intake and prioritization to completion and customer communication.
  • Assist with general store operations, including opening and closing procedures, resolving customer inquiries, and participating in community events.
  • Monitor sales of service-related parts and accessories, maintaining a list of essential items.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of warranty claims and shop bike repairs.
  • Act as the primary liaison with warranty representatives.
  • Maintain safety standards and cleanliness in the service area.
  • Provide direction to staff in the manager's absence to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Evaluate team performance and address any service-related issues.
  • Contribute insights to the Specialized R&D team based on technician feedback and rider experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A genuine passion for cycling and the Specialized brand.
  • At least one year of experience in a retail environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
  • Flexibility to work according to business needs, including weekends.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift at least 50 lbs.
