Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

About the Role:

As a Mechanical Engineer at MiTek USA, you will play a crucial role in designing, analyzing, and testing complex mechanical and robotic systems. You will work closely with engineering, product management, manufacturing, and customers to create innovative automated machinery solutions. From concept to production, you will be responsible for bringing automation to life, improving production output in the component manufacturer industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automated industrial machinery products, focusing on the Component manufacturing (CM) and off-site construction industry.
  • Participate in the planning, development, and deployment of mechanical architectures with integrated automation.
  • Generate mechanical project execution artifacts, including cost estimates, schedules, resource needs, risks, forecasts, and status updates.
  • Participate in the staged-gating process, including requirements reviews, design reviews, test readiness reviews, and verification reviews.
  • Complete simple troubleshooting and root cause/corrective actions.
  • Design and integrate mechanical parts and assemblies using industry best practices.
  • Design and integrate industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Design and integrate industrial electro-mechanical and robotic systems.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including system requirements, engineering drawings, equipment manuals, test plans, and project notes.
  • Ensure compliance with MiTek engineering procedures, guidelines, industry standards, and governmental regulations applicable to industrial machinery.
  • Perform engineering analysis and calculations, including FEA analysis.
  • Enter new or update existing data in the MRP/ERP system.
  • Support Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, Purchasing, Installation, and Customer Service Organizations throughout a product's lifecycle.
  • Review and stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Up to 1 year of related experience required.
  • Basic understanding of strength of materials, statics, and dynamics required.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks, PDM, and AutoCAD Mechanical or willingness to learn.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education that clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.
Additional Requirements:

  • 10% of time traveling for critical on-site activities.
Physical Demands:

This role is primarily performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone, and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role. As part of the essential functions of this role, the individual will need to access a factory and be exposed to temperature changes. This may result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes, and navigating around factory machines.
