Job Summary

The Spine Patient Care Technician plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by performing various delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), this position assists the nursing staff in providing patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring accuracy in all aspects of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in implementing nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed nurses.
  • Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the care cycle.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, including regular turning and positioning, dangling, ambulating, and transferring patients to and from other units or departments.
  • Collect specimens for diagnostic or waived tests and ensure accurate labeling and timely transfer.
  • Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
