Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for performing advanced, non-invasive echocardiographic imaging for clinical purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols.
  • Assume responsibility for the safety of patients during sonographic examinations.
  • Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
  • Ensure that sonography examination orders are complete, contain relevant information, and meet the standard of "medical necessity."
  • Communicate with patients in a manner appropriate to their ability to understand.
  • Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Conduct patient clinical assessments and perform diagnostic cardiac sonography examinations ordered by supervising physicians in accordance with professional and facility protocols.
  • Apply independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography procedures.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws and facility policies.
Requirements
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) (CCI) certification.
  • New graduates must obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
Work Environment and Hazards

Clinical setting. Exposure class I. Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions, or secretions.

Pay Range

Dependent on location and experience: $38.00-$56.40.
