Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures on patients of all ages, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and technology. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses, and provide exceptional patient care and service.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and other modalities, to assist in the diagnosis of patient illness.
- Locate and record internal elements of the body, and identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions.
- Adjust equipment and calm patients to eliminate test artifacts.
- Monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical and emotional changes.
- Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy.
- Review tests with peers and physicians.
- Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested.
- Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers.
- Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation.
- Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed.
- Clean and sterilize equipment and work space.
- Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or write referrals for repair.
- Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures.
- Comply with Siemens, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain equipment according to Infection Control procedure.
- Maintain technical competency through continued education and participation in Siemens training programs.
- Administer contrast agents under the guidance and approval of site Radiologist.
- Maintain current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.
- Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems.
- Call for service and notify all pertinent team members.
- Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Radiographer background with a minimum of 1 year hospital or 2 years clinic experience required, specifically in ER, OR, Trauma, and Portables.
- Valid ARRT license, registered in Radiography.
- Valid CPR certificate.
- State license in IA (will consider candidate that doesn't have this, if willing to obtain).
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal needed.
- Ability to interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous, responsible, professional, and ethical manner.
- Must be flexible, reliable, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
