About the Job: We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Swiss machine technician to join our production team at J&E Companies.

Job Description:

  • Machine Operation: Perform all Tsugami and KSI Citizen Swiss machine operation functions, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot problems on the Swiss machine if needed.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load raw steel to Swiss and unload finished product from Swiss.
  • Quality Control: Perform a visual inspection of raw steel and finished jobs.
  • Documentation: Submits correct first articles to QA, monitors dimensions, and adjusts as required to maintain tolerances.
  • Communication: Advise lead/supervisor of shortages or poor-quality materials/products.
  • Cycle Counting: Accurately count all pieces to ensure no extra or missing parts.
  • Tagging and Reporting: Tag completed jobs with proper work order data and report supply needs and equipment breakdowns to the lead/supervisor.
  • Maintenance: Maintain all equipment in the department as guidelines direct and assist with routine maintenance.
  • Paperwork: Complete all required paperwork in a correct and timely manner.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean and orderly workstation at all times and follow all company processes and procedures with high attention to safety and quality.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Experience: Advanced experience in Swiss machine programming, set-up, and operation and work independently.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Mechanical aptitude and ability to conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot solutions.
  • Math Skills: Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Education: Trade school or Associate in Machining preferred or High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Measuring Devices: Read/use measuring devices as small as .003'', read blueprints and process sheets in both standard and metric.
  • Computer Skills: Possess computer skills necessary to operate the CNC terminal.
  • Material Knowledge: Knowledge of different types of raw materials (cold rolled steel, hot rolled, stainless steel, and galvanized).

Work Environment and Demands:

  • Physical Demands: Attend to machinery (workstation) for long periods, up to an entire shift, managing the controls of the equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Mental Focus: Use a computer keyboard, mobile device, desktop computer, laptop, calculator, telephone, walkie-talkie, copy machine, and other production warehouse tools or controls, mentally focus on tasks and apply sound reasoning and judgment.
  • Visual Inspection: Review documents, monitors or displays with potentially small print, wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, face shields, hard hats, masks, gloves or other PPE required to operate equipment safely and effectively.
  • Move Around Facility: Move through the production warehouse facility on a potentially uneven or slippery surface, respond to safety control noises or alarms such as fire alarms, forklift horns, and machinery alerts.
  • Lifting and Moving: Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment.

Compensation and Benefits:

">

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. This role is classified as full-time nonexempt (hourly) and incumbents will work a minimum of 40 hours in a work week. Work is expected to be delivered within established deadlines and quality standards within specific time periods. This is typically within a 40-hour work week. Overtime (working more than 40 hours in a work week) may be worked when approved or could be required if requested by a manager.
