**Job Title:** Test Automation and Validation Specialist
About the Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Automation and Validation Specialist to join our team at Vicarious Surgical. As a Test Automation and Validation Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and executing manual and automated test procedures for our surgical robot system.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in software testing of complex electromechanical devices in the medical device industry. You should have a strong command over IEC62304 and excellent familiarity with TIR45.
You will work closely with the Integration team to drive test development efforts and play a crucial role in driving product development mode. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $220,000 per year.
Responsibilities:
- Developing test scenarios, test protocols, and test scripts
- Executing manual and automated software test procedures to verify requirements
- Identifying tests for Manual and Automated testing and planning the overall test and regression suite
- Participating in requirements review for testability
- Implementing continuous testing during Sprint and regression testing at appropriate milestones during development
- Reporting defects, tracking re-verification, and closing
- Planning and performing formal software V & V testing during the V & V phase
- Supporting early testing and assisting scrum teams in determining key findings and collaborating to enhance the overall system's design
- Developing verification and validation of test tools where required and in advance of formal DV schedules
- Supporting technical reviews and participating in system design reviews
- Participating and owning the development of testing infrastructure for Manual as well Automated Tests
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree in any scientific or technical field
- Strong command over IEC62304 and excellent familiarity with TIR45
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work very well with geographically distributed teams
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience with C/C++/Python or Java
- Experience with RTI DDS, QNX, and SafeRTOS
- Prior experience testing robotic software systems within the medical/surgical robotics space
- Experience with test management tools like Jama or similar
- Previous verification or validation experience in medical device projects from early development through commercialization
