Transportation Construction Inspector

At Summit Design and Engineering Services, we're seeking highly skilled Transportation Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Engineering Inspection team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of highway construction projects in the Cherokee area and throughout North Carolina.

• Conduct thorough inspections of roadways and structures to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Perform materials sampling and testing to verify the quality of materials used in construction projects.
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with contractors and agency personnel to resolve issues and ensure project completion.
• Develop and maintain accurate records of project activities and prepare detailed reports.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Proficient in using iPad, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Dropbox, and/or OneDrive.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.

• NCDOT Concrete certification.
• NCDOT QMS Roadway certification.
• NCDOT Conventional Density certification.
• NCDOT ABC Sampling certification.
• NCDOT Borrow Pit Sampling certification.
• NCDOT Level II Erosion & Sediment Control certification.
