Position Summary

As a Sales Route Specialist, you will be instrumental in fostering and sustaining strong customer relationships through direct, face-to-face interactions. Your role involves the delivery of essential goods and gas cylinders, as well as the retrieval of empty cylinders, all while adhering to a scheduled route.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and effectively load, transport, and unload goods and gas cylinders to clients, ensuring timely retrieval of empty cylinders.
  • Maintain accurate load manifests and all necessary vehicle documentation.
  • Monitor customer needs to maintain optimal levels of goods and cylinders, minimizing emergency delivery requirements.
  • Utilize warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks efficiently.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and comply with DOT and OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle.
  • Assist customers in-store and perform counter sales as needed.
  • Engage in warehouse tasks including receiving and shipping goods, along with related paperwork.
  • Participate in inventory management and assist with showroom displays and demonstrations.
  • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Class B CDL with HazMat endorsement preferred.
  • Experience with compressed gases and related products is advantageous.
  • Previous customer service or sales experience is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must meet all physical qualifications required for truck drivers.
  • Strong oral communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent customer service and time-management skills.
  • Proven safe driving record.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free environment.
