Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Physical Therapy services to residents under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, adhering to state regulations.
  • Assist the Physical Therapist in evaluating residents in areas such as self-care, mobility, and coordination.
  • Identify needs for evaluations and assist in conducting them at appropriate intervals.
  • Implement both individual and group therapy sessions as directed by the Physical Therapist, focusing on activities of daily living (ADL), mobility, range of motion (ROM), strength, coordination, cognitive/perceptual skills, and maintenance of function.
  • Support the selection and adaptation of therapy techniques and materials based on resident performance, consulting with the Physical Therapist as necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate resident care ratios as established by the Physical Therapist.
  • Provide treatment in line with established best practices, departmental procedures, and productivity expectations.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation, and follow-up of resident therapy programs.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of the National Certification for Physical Therapist Assistants.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • 0-3 years of experience in long-term care settings.
