Key Responsibilities
  • Pharmacy Operations
    • Oversee pharmacy technicians and ensure all personnel adhere to company policy, state, and federal pharmacy statutes.
    • Review and interpret prescription orders from prescribers for accuracy and appropriateness.
    • Verify work performed by pharmacy technicians, including filled prescription orders, cassettes filled for semi-automated dispensing devices, and inventory receipt.
  • Patient Interaction
    • Interact with patients over the phone to provide counseling and answer drug questions.
  • Professional Development
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the profession by attending meetings, lectures, in-service education, and seminars.
    • Comply with National Standards of Continuing Education to maintain professional competency and proficiency.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    • Ensure a high level of professional service is provided by the pharmacy at all times.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or BS Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Must be a licensed, registered pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • 6 months experience practicing pharmacy.
  • Mail order pharmacy experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to perform any necessary pharmacy math.
  • Ability to learn and perform operations within pharmacy management software systems.
  • Read, comprehend, and implement company policies and procedures and pharmacy statutes in daily practice.
  • Fast learner with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Perform effectively and professionally as a member of a larger team.
  • Dedication to punctuality and low absenteeism.
