What you will do


Under direct supervision and adhering to established standards, you will be responsible for hardware design and software programming for HVAC control systems to fulfill project specifications.

You will provide detailed documentation and submissions to convey design and operational details to clients, consultants, the Johnson Controls field installation team, and subcontractors.

You will also respond to basic warranty inquiries.

How you will do it

Select hardware designs from the standard design library for flow diagrams, operational sequences, bills of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics as needed.

You will perform software programming based on established design standards.

Coordinate the development of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submissions and installations.

Select, order, and monitor the delivery of materials for assigned projects.

Coordinate factory-mounting processes to align with factory and project timelines.

Assist in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Help validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot issues with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.

Gather field modifications from the project team and create as-built drawings and software. Prepare appropriate documentation and/or manuals for system operation.

Keep management and the JCI contractor or customer updated on job progress and issues.

Coordinate with project owners to define engineering and field execution task responsibilities.

Assist in conducting site-specific training for owners/operators on the complete system.

Complete necessary paperwork including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.

Adhere to safety standards with a strong emphasis on employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for

Required:
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

Proven technical aptitude.

Advanced computer skills are essential.

Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or 5+ years of experience in the HVAC industry.


Experience with the installation and/or commissioning of control systems, including system-level controllers, or experience in designing or evaluating mechanical/electrical building systems or control systems.
