Position Overview:

The Business Intelligence Analyst will be an integral part of SmithRx's expanding Data Analytics team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Data Analytics. This role serves as a bridge between our business and technology divisions. Collaborating closely with Senior and Lead Data Analysts, you will work with Data Engineers to refine our data infrastructure and partner with customer-facing teams to provide insights that articulate SmithRx's transformative vision and enhance our competitive edge. Business Intelligence Analysts will explore the depths of our data, identifying patterns and trends that inform our mission and shape our long-term strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and develop metrics, dashboards, visualizations, and other analytical tools that improve the efficiency and accuracy of internal processes.
  • Perform thorough analyses to extract insights from our data that support strategic decision-making.
  • Translate business needs from internal stakeholders into technical specifications for the development and validation of our enterprise data warehouse (EDW) in collaboration with the Data Engineering team.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the Data Analytics codebase, following best practices for development, quality assurance (QA), and code review.
  • Create data visualizations and dashboards that effectively communicate compelling narratives and illustrate SmithRx's mission to improve the healthcare industry.
  • Promote a culture of data literacy within the organization, ensuring that business stakeholders can effectively utilize all relevant data products.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to support data-driven communication of SmithRx's value to current and prospective clients.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Data Analytics role.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries, supported by detailed QA checks.
  • Expertise in creating actionable dashboards using data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with additional data analysis tools such as Python or R is preferred.
  • Experience with version control management platforms (e.g., GitHub) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically assess data and the narratives they convey.
  • A genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for understanding the complexities of the pharmacy benefits industry and its data, along with a commitment to our mission of challenging the status quo.
