The Senior Financial Consultant will oversee the preparation, review, analysis, and reconciliation of financial statements, ensuring a thorough comparison of actual financial outcomes against the budget, as well as preparing external audit documentation. This position will serve as a key resource in Capital and Fixed Assets management.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Consultant:

  1. Prepare and analyze financial statements for entities managed by Ecumen.
  2. Serve as the subject matter expert in specialized areas (Sales Tax, Capital and Fixed Assets, etc.), ensuring project requests comply with policies and collaborating with business leaders to address inquiries and provide training on policies and processes.
  3. Collaborate with operations and other internal/external departments during the month-end closing process, addressing policy-related questions and providing training.
  4. Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for designated balance sheet accounts (e.g., debt, benefit reserves) and work closely with business leaders for regular reviews.
  5. Compile work papers and reconciliations, supplying information to support annual financial audits.
  6. Mentor junior accountants and act as a resource during month-end close and financial statement preparation, assisting in the review of monthly financial statements and invoices to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems (ERP) and related technologies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Oracle cloud.
  • Background in non-profit, senior living, and/or healthcare sectors.
