Domestic Violence Advocate Specialist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Violence Advocate Specialist to join our team at Steuben Churchpeople Against Arbor Housing & Dev. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to victims of domestic violence and their children.

About the Role:

• Provide emotional support and guidance to clients as they navigate the process of transitioning into a safe and independent lifestyle.
• Conduct client admissions and discharges, ensuring compliance with OCFS, OVS, AH&D, and DV program protocol.
• Develop and implement discharge plans tailored to each client's needs, focusing on housing level and current functioning.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and agency policy.
• Foster positive relationships with service providers, ensuring seamless linkage to essential resources and services.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a liaison between clients, intervention systems, and interagency review groups.
• Assist with facilitation of weekly support groups, promoting a safe and supportive environment for participants.
• Communicate safety procedures to residents and participate in fire drills and safety inspections as assigned.
• Assist with childcare responsibilities, planning recreational activities, and maintaining a safe environment for children.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of DV/NET Shelter or designee.

Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Human Services preferred; minimum High School Diploma or GED required, with 1 year of relevant experience working with victims of domestic violence.
• Twelve hours of training may be substituted for one year of relevant work experience in specified topics.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of basic computer software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Compensation and Benefits:

Our Domestic Violence Advocate Specialist will receive a competitive salary of $42,000 - $50,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
