Position Overview:
Support the enforcement and compliance of company policies, Environmental Health & Safety regulations, and risk management procedures on construction sites. Aid in identifying, eliminating, and controlling hazardous conditions that could lead to injuries or property damage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in delivering training on safe work practices and implementing safety programs and policies for construction projects.
  • Review subcontractor safety programs for adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate subcontractor training in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Promote safe work practices and conditions in line with regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Support the administration of drug screening programs as per company and project requirements.
  • Coordinate preconstruction meetings with supervisors.
  • Conduct effective orientation programs for new workers and maintain participation records.
  • Gather Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) as required by contracts.
  • Maintain safety documentation including training records, incident investigations, and safety meeting minutes.
  • Conduct site safety audits and inspections, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices, particularly those posing imminent danger.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 1 year of relevant construction safety experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of safety and environmental principles.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of general construction operations.
  • Ability to identify safety hazards and recommend corrective measures.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to follow directions and fulfill commitments.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry skills.
  • Some travel may be necessary; reliable transportation is required.
Physical Demands:
The role requires physical capabilities to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs and ladders, and handling tools. Regular mobility and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds are essential.

Work Environment:
Employees may work in various settings, including construction sites and office environments, with exposure to typical construction hazards. Compliance with safety policies and regulations is mandatory.
