About the Role

Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist Lead to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for leading and educating staff, monitoring daily workload, and coordinating adequate staffing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform staff workload responsibilities and set high standards of performance.
  • Lead and educate team members, promoting flexibility and teamwork as workload requires.
  • Monitor daily workload and coordinate adequate staffing by working with manager or supervisor.
  • Effectively communicate status of outstanding tasks and status of department to manager, supervisor, and coworkers.
  • Prioritize work to ensure efficiency and meet turnaround time expectations.
  • Assist in coordinating timely training of staff for new policies and procedures.
  • Participate in conflict resolution and provide constructive feedback to staff.
  • Review and create standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Verify and document satisfactory equipment operation and maintain equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • One year of related work experience in a laboratory area of comparable complexity and services.
  • Documented proficiency in phlebotomy skills.
  • Nationally recognized Phlebotomy Certificate or willingness to obtain within six months of hire date.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information System and quality management.
