Who are we looking for?

Our client is in search of a Safety Engineer to become a part of their Distribution Departments. This division is tasked with the domestic distribution of hydrocarbon products within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the planning, establishment, implementation, and maintenance of various safety and environmental protocols to ensure adherence to corporate and local department health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant safety and operational experience, ideally within the oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.
  • Extensive knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance with applicable industry, governmental, and international regulations.
  • Capability to assist in the development, implementation, and coordination of comprehensive health and safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and consultation to department personnel to help maintain a safe working environment in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Identify and assess hazardous conditions and practices within the workplace.
  • Offer advice regarding compliance with corporate safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct job site safety compliance inspections, including hazard analyses and safe work procedures.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures, recommending improvements to minimize workplace incidents and injuries.
  • Prepare and deliver safety orientations, training sessions, and job site inspection protocols, while conducting specialized safety and environmental training programs to disseminate hazard control information.
  • Review and analyze data related to injuries, property damage, and statistical losses, collaborating with management to formulate comprehensive recommendations for corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Incorporate essential safety requirements into all purchasing and contracting processes, and recommend the acquisition of safety equipment, supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) as per established company standards.
Job Benefits
  • Monthly Base Salary – competitive with similar roles within the company.
  • Monthly Overbase – 25% of your monthly base salary.
  • Benefits Supplement – 20% of your monthly base salary, increasing to 25% after 3 years, 30% after 6 years, and 35% after 12 years of service.
  • Severance Package (2-year vesting period) – 2 weeks' pay for each year of service from year 2 to 5, and 4 weeks' pay for each year after year 6.
  • Employment Tax – employees may not be required to pay home country income taxes if they choose to separate from their home country for tax purposes; please consult a tax advisor for specifics.
  • Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) – eligible after 12 months of service, allowing a maximum purchase equal to 10% of monthly base pay with a 20% share discount.
  • Incentive Plan – annual performance-based incentives, approximately 1.8 times the monthly base salary.
  • Travel Allowance – annual allowance of approximately $8,200 for household members aged 11 and older residing in Saudi Arabia, and $6,000 for those under 11.
  • Vacation & Paid Holidays – 38 vacation days, 4 travel days, and 11-13 paid holidays.
  • Medical/Dental Plan – complimentary medical care/facilities provided by Johns Hopkins in-Kingdom for employees and eligible family members, with subsidized dental services.
  • Educational Assistance Plan (EAP) – Out of Kingdom assistance covering 90% of expenses with a maximum per child, and in-Kingdom assistance options available.
  • Settling in Allowance – one-time payment based on family or single status.
