Mechanical Design Engineer (Custom Assembly Automation)
TEC Group, Inc. is looking for a skilled Design Engineer with expertise in automation design to enhance our engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess the capability to create and develop mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and automation systems. Additionally, strong project management skills specific to automation initiatives and experience in drafting and updating technical machine documentation are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed mechanical and electrical CAD drawings.
- Design and implement high-quality automation solutions efficiently.
- Oversee and maintain machine Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Troubleshoot, debug, and configure automation equipment.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to innovate new automation systems.
- Manage project timelines and deliver regular progress updates.
- Engage with clients during the installation and servicing of equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards and symbols.
- Proficient in 3D solid modeling software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and SOLIDWORKS.
- Familiarity with electrical control systems and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Project management experience in automation-related projects.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems and precision measurement tools.
- Willingness to travel for service and installation purposes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and various ERP platforms.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Ability to perform a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Exposure to standard manufacturing environment conditions.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety glasses and ear protection are required when operating machinery.
