Radiology Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary and benefits package.

About the Role

The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing various radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to ensure accurate patient care and high-quality imaging results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, adhering to prescribed methods and safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures, obtaining clinical history, and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring accurate image acquisition and patient safety.
  • Identify patients, label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images, ensuring quality control and accuracy.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond high school in Radiologic Technology, completed from an accredited or approved program.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
Salary and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary, ranging from $65,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
