The role of the Geriatric Nursing Assistant is essential in delivering routine nursing and personal care to residents, ensuring that the highest standards of quality care are maintained at all times.
This position requires effective collaboration with team members to achieve work objectives and deliver exceptional care, while also supporting and celebrating team achievements.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must possess a current Maryland GNA Certification.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enroll and complete such a program within 120 days of employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in and receive resident reports at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Provide personal and nursing care according to resident care plans.
- Facilitate and engage in resident activities.
- Monitor and respond to resident requests and needs with dignity and respect.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for residents.
- Assist residents in preparing for various activities.
- Ensure all care is delivered in a respectful manner.
- Perform basic nursing care procedures as required.
- Create a safe and comfortable environment for residents, ensuring their needs are met.
- Ensure timely and compassionate food service for residents.
- Maintain documentation for daily living activities and resident-specific forms.
- Adhere to established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures, as well as safety and infection control standards.
- Attend scheduled training and educational programs to maintain certification and enhance care quality.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
