Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic to join our team at Freedom Plasma. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors.

Job Summary:

The Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic will be responsible for conducting medical screenings, performing donor eligibility assessments, and providing counseling to donors regarding unacceptable test results. You will also be responsible for evaluating and attending to donor adverse events during the donation process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct medical screenings and perform donor eligibility assessments
  • Provide counseling to donors regarding unacceptable test results
  • Evaluate and attend to donor adverse events during the donation process
  • Follow all standard operating procedures for medical emergencies
  • Learn and maintain thorough familiarity with state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedure Manual, and internal Company Procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information
  • Ensure a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one (1) year work experience preferred
  • Actively licensed or certified in the state where performing duties: State Licensed EMT I, Basic, Advanced, Paramedic
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knee
  • Ability to sit for extended periods for up to four (4) hours at a time
  • Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds
Work Environment:
  • Typical work environment with moderate noise level
  • May be exposed to freezing temperatures for short periods of time
  • Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
