- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
- Ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed.
- Promote the property through excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
- Be proficient in all housekeeping and guest service operations.
- Anticipate and address guest service needs and assist individuals with disabilities.
- Enter guestrooms following all procedures, ensuring safety and vacancy.
- Ensure safe handling, usage, and storage of chemicals, linen, and equipment.
- Clean bathrooms and guest areas according to company and brand standards.
- Remove trash, dirty linen, and room service items.
- Make beds, vacuum carpet, and mop bathroom floors, dust all furniture and fixtures.
- Replace linens and replenish bathroom and guest room amenities and promotional materials.
- Check appliances are present and in working order.
- Review and follow procedures to report equipment, furnishings, and supplies in need of repair.
- Review and follow procedures on brand and company energy conservation programs.
- Replace light bulbs and inform maintenance of any repairs necessary.
- Have a complete understanding of the proper layout of furniture and amenities of each room type.
- Visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and appearance, correct deficiencies.
- Maintain assigned equipment, empty vacuum bags, and report any problems to supervisors or maintenance.
- Ensure laundry chutes are secured at all times.
- Assist and schedule linen counts for inventory control.
- Operate and monitor washing, drying, and machinery, including adding chemicals and lint traps.
- Transport and replenish linens from laundry rooms to storage and guest rooms.
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold linen.
- Turn in and log lost and found items to housekeeping managers.
- Sign and secure room keys according to company standards.
- Restock housekeeping carts.
- Set heating/cooling equipment and radio on proper settings.
- Self-inspect guestrooms as directed.
- Practice energy conservation at all times.
- Assist in regular inventory counts and processes.
- Keep company business, including financials, personnel, guest, and customer data strictly confidential.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Able to communicate effectively with other employees and guests.
- Proficient in English; bi-lingual a plus.
- Adaptable and willing to assist other departments in times of need.
- Professional appearance and grooming must be adhered to at all times.
- Uniforms must be worn according to company and brand standards.
- Ability to attend and complete required company and brand training.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and flex-shifts.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Stand and walk for an extended period of time.
- Move up and down stairs, elevators, and/or service ramps.
- Work a flexible schedule.
- Be organized and work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Have an outgoing personality.
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
- High School Diploma preferred.
