Job Title: Addiction Counselor

At Seafield Center, we are committed to providing high-quality care to individuals struggling with addiction. As an Addiction Counselor, you will play a vital role in helping our patients achieve recovery and live fulfilling lives.

Main Function:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide direct treatment to an assigned caseload of patients who are addicted to alcohol or other mind/mood-altering substances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provide group counseling to an assigned caseload.
  2. Provide individual and family counseling.
  3. Complete assessment and admission process.
  4. Design and implement treatment plans and treatment plan reviews (TPR's).
  5. Responsible for documentation of all services provided.
  6. Maintain contact with referral sources, including EAP's and Criminal Justice referral sources.
  7. Generate and send Referral Progress Reports.
  8. Participate in weekly Case Conference meeting for treatment review of patients.
  9. Attend weekly supervision.
  10. Participate in staff meetings.
  11. Assure that Seafield's policies and procedures and federal regulations regarding confidentiality of the patient and their records are adhered to.
  12. Complete patient Discharge Planning/Transitional Planning, Discharge UR, and referrals.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications:

CASAC or CASAC eligible, or B/S-B/A with working knowledge of substance abuse disorders.

While performing this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

This is a largely sedentary role and involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required occasionally.

The employee must have the ability to use a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, copier, fax machine, scanner and telephone.
