The Retail Operations Leader is accountable for the effective management and profitability of the store, which encompasses training, guiding, and overseeing all departmental personnel.


Key Responsibilities:


Delivering exceptional customer service in alignment with company standards is paramount. All team members are trained to provide outstanding service to our valued customers.

It is essential for all management staff to maintain professionalism and offer suitable leadership to both the team and the store.

Customer feedback is addressed promptly and in accordance with company protocols.
The store should be welcoming and well-stocked with products that customers desire to purchase.

Ensures that the phone is answered according to company guidelines and dedicates at least 75% of time on the sales floor assisting customers, guiding staff, and overseeing all departments.

Training staff to deliver exceptional customer service and ensuring accountability is crucial.
Compliance with relevant state and/or county food safety certifications and registrations is mandatory for all staff.
The Retail Operations Leader is tasked with ensuring that the store meets or surpasses expectations in:
- Store and department sales
- Sales per Labor Hour Ratio
- Average Ticket, Customer Count, Cost of Goods Sold for Produce, and EBITDA
Ensures that products are sourced from appropriate vendors to secure the correct discounts and maintain profit margins.
Proper rotation and stocking of perishables must be adhered to according to company standards.
Management of markdowns should align with company policies.
Viewing the store holistically and assisting customers across all areas is essential.
Store personnel must be trained, assigned tasks, and held accountable for task completion.
Master and daily schedules must be accurate, comprehensive, and fulfill store requirements.
Collaboration with department managers to share staff for daily task completion is encouraged.
Conducting and completing all staff performance evaluations with input from department managers is required.
Recruitment and hiring for store needs should involve input from department managers.
Maintaining clear and direct communication with store personnel is vital.
Ensuring adherence to safety protocols at all times is a priority.
All necessary edits must be made promptly.
Proactively hiring, training, and developing store staff, department managers, and Assistant Store Managers is crucial.
Monitoring all departments and holding department managers accountable for operational duties is essential.
Timely completion of store paperwork and reports is required.
Maintaining the store's appearance and cleanliness is a fundamental responsibility.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is essential
- 1-2 years of management experience in grocery or related retail sectors; experience in the natural foods industry is advantageous
- Ability to manage shifting priorities
- Capability to pass relevant food safety training courses and/or testing to obtain necessary certifications as mandated by state and/or county regulations.
- Must be able to achieve forklift certification.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
