Our client, a leading player in the seafood harvesting, processing, and distribution sector, is currently seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician.

Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the Refrigeration Engineer and be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of the company's industrial refrigeration systems and controls, along with addressing various maintenance tasks related to hydraulic, electrical, welding, pipe fitting, machine installation, lighting, plumbing, and HVAC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor mechanical systems in operation and listen for any irregular sounds to identify potential issues.
  • Conduct proper servicing or preventative maintenance on equipment, which includes lubricating, cleaning, disassembling, and replacing parts as necessary.
  • Examine used components to assess changes in specifications and adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments accordingly.
  • Repair or replace faulty components and evaluate their performance post-repair.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair documentation as mandated by legal and company standards.
  • Be available for emergency calls, including occasional night shifts.

Required Skills:

  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn and utilize maintenance database software and other applications, such as VLM, Word, and Excel.
  • Capability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical manuals, or governmental regulations, and to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a timely response to issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening and effective communication in both verbal and written forms, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Dedication to adhering to safety and security protocols and reporting any potentially hazardous conditions.

Education and Experience:

A four-year college degree, technical or vocational school certification, or equivalent experience of at least 5 years in a related field.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • NJ Blue Seal Toxic Refrigeration certifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • Certifications for industrial equipment
