Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures and assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize nuclear medicine modalities to create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe and positive experience.
  • Practice and enforce radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health code part 16.
  • Support teaching and continued learning as technology changes for both yourself and others.
  • Prepare and administer dosages of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Prepare and position patients for scanning and operate nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment, including SPECT/CT or PET/CT scanner.
  • Ensure radiation safety and quality control procedures, disposal of radioactive materials, and monitor work areas and patient rooms to ensure compliance with NY State regulations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a 2-year AMA Nuclear Medicine School.
  • ARRT and NMTCB certification required.
  • On-call responsibility.
