Job Summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Mississippi State Penitentiary. As a LPN, you will deliver quality care to patients, monitoring their health and administering medications as directed by the Medical Director, DON, or Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement nursing care within the LPN's scope of practice, including compliance with all laws as applicable in the practice setting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of teaching plans based on the individual needs of the patient.
  • Administer medications to offenders and provide for the care of multiple patients as directed by the Medical Director, DON, or Registered Nurse.
  • Monitor vital signs and report changes to appropriate medical staff, documenting actions in the MAR and medical records.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  • Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
  • Possesses an active CPR certification.
  • Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
