PACU Nurse Job Summary:

The PACU Nurse is responsible for assessing patients immediately post-procedure and leading the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care provided by the patient care team. This role requires technical nursing care and interventions to a designated patient population, demonstrating an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients immediately post-procedure and develop a nursing plan of care.
  • Provide technical nursing care and interventions to a designated patient population.
  • Collaborate with the patient care team to implement and evaluate the nursing plan of care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

Requirements:
  • One year of recent Medical-Surgical or Critical Care experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current Louisiana RN license required.
  • BLS Certification required.

Preferred Certifications:
  • PALS
  • ACLS
