Your Role:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Thermal Management to join our hardware engineering team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You should excel in a dynamic environment that is rapidly evolving due to significant industry growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and enhance battery module architectures to fulfill specific criteria, including energy density, power output, thermal regulation, and safety standards.
  • Engineer mechanical, electrical, and thermal components that support battery modules, such as busbars, cooling systems, and protective enclosures.
  • Engage with module suppliers to guarantee compatibility and seamless integration into system designs.
  • Work alongside manufacturing teams to refine assembly processes, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Facilitate the transition from prototype development to mass production, including pilot builds and scaling activities.
  • Oversee supplier relationships and project timelines to ensure program deliverables are met within budget constraints.
  • Conduct various battery cell testing experiments, document methodologies, and execute tests in a laboratory setting.
  • Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis using Ansys Fluent to explore innovative thermal management solutions for battery systems.
  • Develop Digital Twin models of energy storage systems within the Matlab environment, focusing on energy circuit and thermal model generation.
  • Create mechanical enclosures, racks, and components intended for the energy storage sector.
  • Document testing procedures, assembly instructions, and other essential system documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to devise optimal solutions for clients and development initiatives.
  • Support manufacturing and system deployment by working collaboratively to resolve challenges and ensure compliance with specifications.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree required; PhD preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product development and mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, MATLAB, Simulink, and Ansys.
  • Experience with energy storage systems is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of electrochemical energy storage principles and lithium-ion battery technologies.
  • Knowledge of heat transfer and thermodynamics.
  • Ability to address customer needs and challenges effectively.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and vendors in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
