Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse Coordinator (WOCN) to join our team at Mount Vernon Hospital. This part-time role will support Professional Practice and provide expert care to patients with wound, ostomy, and continence needs.
Responsibilities:- Develop and monitor standards, guidelines, and pathways for wound, ostomy, and continence care delivery.
- Foster high standards of practice relating to the care, teaching, and rehabilitation of persons with ostomies, fistulas, wounds, and incontinence.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and nursing staff on wound care management, ostomy care, and continence care.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to peers, physicians, and leaders on complex clinical issues in wound, ostomy, and continence care.
- Provide direction and guidance to others regarding practice and provide safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way.
- Part-time schedule with shifts/schedule between M-F, 8-4; 24 hours per week.
- Location: Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Experience: 3 years of experience providing wound/ostomy care and Wound Certification (CWS, CWOCN, CWCN, CWOCN, or COCN accepted) or 5 years RN experience providing wound/ostomy care. Preferred experience in clinical nursing education.
- Licensure/Certifications: RN license in the state of Virginia; CWS, CWOCN, CWCN, CWOCN, or COCN or 2 additional years RN experience providing wound/ostomy care in lieu of cert (total 5 years); BLS from the American Heart Association.
- Other: Must be able to function independently, Microsoft Office (Excel), EpicCare, team player.
