About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Director to join our team at Big-D Construction. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive safety program that ensures the well-being of our employees, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Program Development and Implementation: Develop, establish, and monitor Big-D's Safety Program, which includes tracking safety, health, and environmental conditions at construction sites.
  • HSE Training and Development: Create and deliver training programs for employees, subcontractors, and vendors on various safety topics, including fall protection, silica, excavations, and more.
  • Incident Management and Response: Respond to incidents, conduct accident investigations, and develop root cause analysis reports.
  • Field Safety Audits and Training: Conduct safety audits on projects, train superintendents on safety management, and provide on-the-spot training as needed.
  • Corporate Safety and Compliance: Review and approve payroll deduction forms, invoices, and safety equipment orders; maintain and order PPE; and coordinate with Industrial Supply for Big-D hard hat transfers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in safety and risk management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • OSHA certification and knowledge of construction safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
