Job Title: Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS)

Job Summary:

The Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) will play a crucial role in supporting clients with mental health needs. This position requires a strong understanding of mental health terms and methods of practice, as well as excellent organizational and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide case management services to clients, including intake, assessment, and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with the Licensed Social Worker (LSW) to create individual service plans (ISPs) and provide services that support client progress.
  • Track and record client progress through case management notes and monthly reports.
  • Coordinate therapy/counseling sessions with the LSW and provide mental health services to dual clients.
  • Connect clients to community resources as necessary and advocate on their behalf.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of mental health terms and methods of practice.
  • Experience working with clients struggling with mental health, substance abuse, and/or trauma.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • An understanding of emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
  • Valid Ohio or Michigan driver's license and good driving record.
  • Current and valid QMHS certification.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Standing for prolonged periods of time.
  2. Pushing and lifting up to 50lbs independently.
  3. Stooping, reaching, and balancing.
  4. Ability to safely operate a personal motor vehicle on a weekly basis.
