Job Summary

ASRC Federal Gulf States Constructors is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to support environmental compliance activities under the Sheppard Air Force Base contract in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, and components, and applications.
  • Review AF Requirements & Optimization (R&O) playbook for project initiations and development of maintenance requirements.
  • Perform inspections on completed project work, including equipment installations, and capture Real Property data.
  • Interpret construction/engineering contract drawings and specifications to ensure all construction meets initial design and specifications.
  • Develop project proposals, including scope definition, specification, studies, budgeting, and write-up.
  • Prepare initial government cost estimates for small projects.
  • Perform physical activities, including climbing, crawling, and working outdoors.
  • Consult and coordinate with electrical, structural, and mechanical engineers during the design phase.
  • Support project design teams, including architects, engineers, and customer's technical staff.
  • Provide technical support to programmers and cost estimators.
  • Conduct technical reviews of Military Construction (MILCON), Unspecified Minor Military Construction (UMMC), facility projects, and architect-engineer designers' plans and specifications.
  • Perform root cause analysis on systems failing prematurely or systemically.
  • Review AF Form 332 work request submissions for validity of scope and practicality of work in house.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • 5 years of experience in horizontal and vertical civil/structural programs.
  • Ability to identify common site architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection/detection system components, and understand how they function/operate.
  • Experience planning or performing facility maintenance, improvements, or repairs.
  • Experience and aptitude using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid US driver's license.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.
  • Commitment to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least three years' experience working in a military environment and familiarity with US Air Force Civil Engineering guidance, rules, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of construction management software, project closeout procedures, preventive maintenance, construction and repair terminology and processes.
