POSITION LOCATION: Stockton, CA.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this role is to perform repairs and maintenance on both new and pre-owned paving machinery as well as company-owned equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze job orders and assess, listen, and diagnose various types of Caterpillar machinery.
  • Conduct general repair work on equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of service reports and work orders.
  • Dismantle units and inspect components for wear and tear.
  • Replace or repair parts including pumps, hoses, motors, valves, and bearings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, emission, and powertrain systems.
  • Reconstruct components such as screeds, augers, and conveyor systems.
  • Fix vibratory systems, generator/heater setups, material feed systems, and grade/slope controls.
  • Adjust and repair hydraulic systems.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficient in reading and understanding simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Capable of writing service reports and effectively presenting information in small group settings.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations in various units of measure.
  • Maintain a consistent state of alertness and safety while performing essential functions.
  • Follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions accurately.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with four to seven years of relevant experience or a suitable combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS:

A valid Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

COMPENSATION:

Hourly Wage Range: $37.56 to $51.53

Compensation is based on knowledge, skills, and the ability to fulfill job responsibilities.
