KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Effectively interpret and implement directives from work orders, job specifications, blueprints, or schematics.
- Identify and safely utilize hand tools and power tools suitable for various tasks.
- Recognize different materials relevant to the craft and demonstrate proficiency in material handling techniques.
- Select and operate necessary equipment, which may include manlifts, forklifts, and company vehicles.
- Exhibit knowledge and skills in safe rigging methodologies.
- Identify, articulate, and execute crane signaling procedures.
- Understand the functions, operational characteristics, and limitations of various heavy machinery.
- Effectively communicate hoisting challenges to relevant personnel.
- Demonstrate awareness of the necessary protocols when conducting lifts near power lines.
- Ensure proper site preparation for crane operations.
- Accurately determine load weight and placement details prior to any lifting activities.
- Assess the number of parts of hoist line required for specific tasks.
- Skillfully assemble, set up, and rig cranes.
- Safely relocate cranes from one site to another.
- Implement appropriate procedures for securing cranes when not in use.
- Read and interpret sling and shackle charts accurately.
- Inspect all lifting equipment, including slings, cables, shackles, chains, and safety devices.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in hand rigging techniques.
- Select rigging gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches based on load specifications and operational requirements.
- Attach loads to rigging systems to facilitate support or movement using hand and power tools.
- Manipulate suspended loads to navigate around obstacles using multi-point suspension methods.
- Control the movement of heavy equipment through confined spaces using various rigging tools.
- Conduct safety tests on rigging setups to ensure reliability.
- Signal or verbally guide team members involved in hoisting and load movement to maintain safety standards.
Candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction sector, preferably in a support or material handling role, or in proximity to construction mobile equipment.
