Position Overview

DPR Construction is in search of a skilled Project Engineer with 2-5 years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within the commercial construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for the construction of MEP systems.
  • Implement and adhere to DPR's Environmental Health and Safety Plan to ensure a safe working environment, including conducting weekly safety audits.
  • Understand and enforce contractual agreements between DPR and subcontractors.
  • Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager in executing DPR's policies and project objectives.
  • Coordinate the responsibilities of Engineers, Field Office Coordinators, Project Accountants, and other project personnel, ensuring effective direction and prioritization.
  • Engage in training sessions and company meetings to promote personal and organizational development.
  • Organize and maintain electronic project files for streamlined access by the project team.
  • Prepare, monitor, and update project schedules, collaborating with the Superintendent to mitigate project constraints.
  • Maintain various document control records, including daily reports, procurement logs, submittal logs, as-built documents, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs.
  • Distribute updated drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other pertinent project information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare agendas, documents, meeting minutes, and action items for various meetings, including Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and staff meetings.
  • Monitor testing and inspection records, safety inspection logs, and building permit inspections.

Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
  • Organized and adaptable work style to meet the evolving needs of the project.
  • In-depth knowledge of project scopes with a hands-on approach.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving construction-related challenges during design and execution phases.
  • Goal-oriented mindset to effectively coordinate and address project issues within the team.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Adept at identifying and resolving complex problems.
  • Effective team player in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (CMiC, Prolog or similar), scheduling software (Primavera or similar), and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or similar).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer, preferably in DPR's core markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a passion for the construction industry.
