Job Title: Assistant Designer, SLGs and Tech

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Assistant Designer to join our team in the Mainline Tech and Small Leather Goods department. As an Assistant Designer, you will play a key role in conceptualizing, creating, and developing designs for our tech accessories and small leather goods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the design process from conception through production, ensuring that designs meet the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct market and trend research to stay up-to-date on the latest design trends and innovations.
  • Communicate design ideas effectively to cross-functional teams, including design, merchandising, and production.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop and refine designs, ensuring that they meet business strategy and market trends.
  • Work closely with pre-production partners to ensure design packages are complete and accurate.
  • Develop highly detailed specs for production.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and sales teams to determine sales needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with tech design, merchandising, production, CAD team, sourcing offices, and vendors to ensure quality, delivery, and business practices are achieved and upheld.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in design or a related field, or a combination of education and employment experience.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Hand sketching skills.
  • Knowledge of raw materials and construction techniques.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
