We are seeking a highly skilled Pathologist to join our team at the Northport Healthcare System of the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic procedures, interpreting results, and collaborating with healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless operation of the laboratory and provide expert advice to healthcare teams on diagnostic findings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform surgical pathology, cytopathology, and anatomic pathology on a rotational basis.
  • Process and read prepared slides for diagnosis on emergent and routine requests received in the Pathology Department.
  • Provide medical and administrative consultative coverage of both clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory during non-routine tours.

Requirements:
  • U.S. citizenship or the ability to obtain it.
  • A degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • A full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
