We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at FCM Group, LLC dba Nurse Next Door - Pearland & Kingwood.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity for an individual to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the provision of high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Promote and maintain health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of physical therapists by identifying patient care issues and collaborating on solutions.
- Administer treatment programs for patients, tailoring approaches to meet individual needs and goals.
- Assess patient health by conducting thorough interviews, performing physical examinations, and analyzing therapy histories.
- Evaluate abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapists' interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Perform therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing patients in non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
- Provide assistance with using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses, promoting independence and confidence.
- Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens, offering guidance on normal growth and development, and encouraging wellness and health maintenance.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations, and following infection-control policies and protocols.
- Maintain production objectives by monitoring current treatment trends and tracking actual physical therapy services rendered to ensure alignment with goals.
- Maintain legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations and JACHO standards.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments by participating in educational opportunities, reading periodicals, maintaining personal networks, and engaging with professional organizations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- Completion of a physical therapist assistant program approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Certification as a physical therapist assistant from the National Board for Certification in Medical Imaging (NBCMI) or other recognized certifying agency.
- 1-2 years of experience as a physical therapist assistant; prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
