Job Summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team. As a Laborer, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties in a general manual laborer work environment. This includes cleaning and maintaining the plant, assisting with equipment operation and servicing, and performing other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including cleaning, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
  • Assist with equipment operation and servicing, including basic tool use.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned, including maintenance, repair, and installation of new or rebuilt machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with oiling, greasing, lubricating, and servicing all mobile equipment and stationary machinery.
  • May be required to cut grass, weeds, trim bushes, and perform general landscape work.
  • Must clean out and re-brick kilns.
  • May need to help load and unload railcars, trucks, or other vehicles as assigned.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Must report and potential operational or safety problems to supervision.
  • Must comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations.
  • Must operate the water truck when needed.
  • Can operate the sweeper or vacuum truck.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Ability to work shift work, overtime, or seven days a week, if needed.
  • Able to communicate verbally and written.
  • Capable of performing the essential job duties required of this job.
  • Able to abide by all Chemical Lime Company policies and procedures.
  • Able to work as a team member and work independently.
Physical Demands
  • Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
  • Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 150 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a lime/mineral environment.
  • The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Lime/Mineral Particles.
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
